My maytag washer door is locked and won't release to open it i was putting clothes in and closed the door to start ane wanted to add another towel and it said door is locked i pushed the pause button …. You can manually unlock the washer door by removing the service panel below the door.<br><br>if this is a front load washer, remove the bottom panel.. To unlock the controls, press and hold the cycle end signal for 3 deliberate seconds or until the control lock light goes out. if the control locked light will not turn off, i recommend unplugging the washer for 5 minutes..
