Mobius 2 KENYA

Mobius Two omits many non-essential features while maintaining essential functionality. It has already been driven over 2,500 Kilometres around Kenya on varied terrain and proved its rugged capability.

Mobius Two is designed for driving on rough African roads. The body has a 35cm ground clearance, rugged integrated skid plate and large tyres. This is combined with the power to weight ratio of a 4x4 for optimum off-road performance.

Mobius Two is versatile. The body and suspension are capable of transporting large or heavy loads long distances. The rear fold-up seats can be configured for a total of six or eight persons; they are removable, leaving a flat cargo space comparable to a pickup truck. Mobius has a rated rear load of 500kg.

Lasting structural rigidity is ensured by the tubular steel chasis, which incorporates design elements of high perfomance and racing vehicles. Aluminium honeycomb crumple zone bumpers absorb impact forces in the event of a collision.

Mobius uses proven components and is constructed so that parts can be easily serviced by mechanics. Repairs to the steel frame can be carried out using a simple welding procedure.

Here she is soldered together with the front axle tube in place. I cut additional slots that will be used to solder the chassis in additional spots as well as the end of the tube.

View from underneath. I rounded the edges of the angle for a little smoother look. Its also one less thing to poke a turn marshall with.

After a few hours in the tumbler, our frame looks like a shiny piece of jewelry. Well mount the body next.

To go for the American short track look...those wheel wells are going to have to be opened up.

I used JK products lane stickers, stuck them to the body in the desired location, and traced around them with a Sharpie. The shaded parts will be removed with a Dremel sanding drum.

Heres the wheel wells cut out so that we can obtain a wider stance. Im going with a flat black hood on this one. Black hoods are just sinister looking on Camaros.

Our SRX also included an optional $1,395 dual rear DVD entertainment system which provides headphones and remote control for back seat passengers. All 5 riders are well looked after, with heated and ventilated front seats, heated rear seats, and a heated steering wheel for the driver. Although direct rear vision is somewhat occluded due to the SRX’ down swept roofline and small back window, Cadillac includes a standard backup camera which displays its image on the Navigation screen when Reverse gear is engaged. Interior spaciousness also benefits from a huge and standard “Ultraview Power Sunroof” which consists of a sliding front section, a fixed rear section, and a separately controlled sliding interior cover. With both roofs unmasked, the effect is almost like riding in a convertible.

Thanks to its newly available V6 power source, bevy of amenities, and sound Caddy construction, the SRX AWD is a valuable addition to the Cadillac line’s Premium Collection. While it doesn’t offer the gas-sucking horsepower of the SVT, the SRX has more than enough punch to lay down reputable passes on a two-lane highway. Because its standard amenity list is so long, its option list is blissfully short. Now that’s a sure formula to keep the bottom line affordable.
