2013 Honda CR V Review

The new 2013 Honda CR-V has become more dynamic, while at the same offers even more space.

Honda CRV 2013

The fourth-generation Honda CR-V was launched in late 2012. Visually, the new CR-V is an evolution of its predecessor, despite more dynamic appearance and recognize immediately again as CR-V. The new off-roader featuring a sporty nose in the new Honda-brand look and a very bulky tail, which offers plenty of space.

Honda has launched the new CR-V improves in any direction, regardless of whether space, workmanship, material quality or thrift, the new CR-V will be matured in all aspects.

Honda CRV with on board are there already, ABS, ESP, six airbags, Hill Assist, a hill descent control, a 2-zone automatic climate control, an adjustable front armrest, a CD radio including 360 watt sound system, cruise control, parking aid front and rear, a reversing camera, a high-beam assistant, cornering lights, a Bluetooth handsfree, power windows and much more.

Even at first glance, the new CR-V has even higher quality than its predecessor without it already was. The processing in the interior reaches a premium level, and the choice of materials like, especially the cozy seat cover on the comfortable sitting tight.

Honda CRV 2013

The new CR-V has also become even more clear, the unit is divided valves very clear, and all functions can be operated intuitively, even when the steering wheel at first glance looks a bit cluttered.

Also the newly designed valves are easy to read, and the speedometer on the right and left bound with a light bar, depending on the driving style changes color. Is it a particularly efficient way, the bars are green. So shall the drivers are encouraged to place an efficient driving style of the day.

A class by itself is the space of 457 cm long SUV. All passengers will appreciate the royal space, and the completely flat floor in the rear also allows the housed in the center passenger still a good sitting position. The luggage compartment with a volume of 589 liters dimensions also very large and can be expanded by folding down the rear seats still to 1,669 liters.

Honda CRV 2013

The American taste, we also have many trays and drinks holders owe inside that make the CR-V will be more practical.

Quite to the European taste towards the 2.2-liter diesel engine was tailored capable with an output of 150 hp boasts (110 kW). Its maximum torque of 350 Nm, the engine at 2,000 r / min, but even before that has a lot of powerful diesel thrust. The sprint from 0 to 100 km / h is done in 9.7 seconds, top speed is 190 km / h.

Succeeded perfectly in this case is the noise insulation, whether highway or full acceleration, it hardly penetrate the engine or road noise in the interior. Here, too, reached the CR-V Premium-class level.

Honda CRV 2013 interior

Very good for diesel fits the 6-speed manual transmission. The possible variations are translated quite long and also allow a switch lazy driving, without the same way would not ecological. The gear stick is also very well positioned, and the gears can be sorted easily and readily.

Especially for an SUV with a higher center of gravity of the CR-V can also be the subject of fun full points. It has even during fast cornering never felt that the car could tilt or would leave the path chosen. One reason for the very good road is also the all-wheel drive, which distributes the power perfectly to the two axes.

So that even off-road looks good, the CR-V has a Bergan and Hill Descent Control on board. In combination with the higher ground clearance can be realized so also easy terrain and is perfect especially in the winter with no problems at their destination.

Honda CRV 2013

Despite all the sporty and versatility of the CR-V is also very economical to move. The factory specified 5.8-liter consumption, we have only just missed, but in the area of the attainable. On average we have used without loss of driving pleasure around 6.3 liters per 100 kilometers, which can be called the Honda in terms of size and performance as very economical.

The CR-V presents itself as an excellent long-distance vehicle for every application. Even in the city is the large Honda looks good. By its light steering and good visibility including very large mirror to get even in the maze of the city along well. Thanks to the standard parking aid and rear camera can be designed to handle tight parking spaces easily.

Honda, with the new CR-V succeeded definitely a winner. He has grown in every field of instrumentation even better than its predecessor and is processing and noise reduction in premium-class level. The price holds in terms of facilities and services in the context, and the splashy Diesel prepares not only fun to ride, but is also very economical.

2013 Subaru Recalls

2013 Subaru Recalls

Welcome to inex-cars.blogspot.com, will give you the latest information about the 2013 Subaru Recalls. The 2012 Subaru Forester drives more like a car than like an SUV and it features a superb all-wheel-drive system giving it excellent foul-weather capability. A compact SUV that seats five, the Forester offers good cargo capacity.

It competes with the Honda CR-V and Toyota RAV4, but the Forester offers much better handling than those two, on dry pavement but especially on wet pavement, snow, ice or dirt.

The current-generation Forester was launched as a 2009 model. For 2011, Subaru gave the Forester a new standard engine with chain-driven dual overhead camshafts rated at 170 horsepower and 21/27 mpg City/Highway. The turbocharged Forester 2.5XT models retain their belt-driven twin-cam engine, which produces 224 horsepower on Premium fuel, with EPA estimates of 19/24 mpg.

For 2012, there are only minor changes. Among them: 2012 Forester Limited and 2012 Forester Touring models offer an integrated navigation system with a 6.1-inch touch-screen display. Included in the navigation package is a rearview camera and an AM/FM/HD/CD stereo with six speakers (seven on Touring), voice-activated controls, Bluetooth hands-free phone connectivity and audio streaming, iPod control capability, iTunes tagging, USB port, 3.5mm auxiliary input jack, SMS text messaging capability, and satellite radio capability. The old removable Tom-Tom nav system is still offered on 2.5X Premiums with automatic transmission. Also new, the front-passenger seat adjusts for height on all 2012 Subaru Forester models.

The Subaru Forester is a very practical vehicle. The rear seats are split 60/40 and easily fold flat to make a gigantic cargo area capable of carrying lots of gear. Rear-seat legroom is excellent, at 38.0 inches. That alone is a big plus, and its one of the reasons the Forester is such a good family vehicle. The front doors are wide, and the rear doors swing open 75 degrees and feel light, making it easy to get in and out.

The 2012 Subaru Forester comes in four trim levels, each with all-wheel drive. The 2.5X models come with the 170-hp engine that was all-new last year; 2.5XT models get the familiar 224-hp turbocharged engine.

Forester 2.5X ($20,595) comes with rugged cloth upholstery, air conditioning with rear vents and an air filtration system, a 60/40 split rear seat, four-speaker AM/FM sound system with single-disc CD, height adjustment for both front seats, cruise control, rear window wiper, a trailer wiring connector, and 16-inch steel wheels with wheelcovers. A 5-speed manual transmission is standard. The only options are a 4-speed automatic transmission with manual mode ($1200), and 16-inch alloy wheels, which come with roof rails ($400).

Forester 2.5X Premium ($23,295) adds 17-inch alloy wheels with wider-profile all-season tires, privacy glass, 10-way power drivers seat, tilt-and-telescope steering, a reclining rear seat with retractable tray, roof rails, power moonroof, and an upgraded six-speaker audio system that adds steering wheel-mounted controls, an auxiliary input jack, Bluetooth hands-free calling and audio streaming, iPod control capability, USB port and Sirius satellite radio capability. An all-weather package ($500) includes heated front seats and side mirrors, plus a windshield wiper de-icer. The 2.5X Premium with automatic transmission ($24,295) makes available a package ($1,095) combining the all-weather equipment with a removable TomTom navigation system.

Forester 2.5X Limited ($26,595) features perforated leather seats in black or platinum, seatback storage pockets, leather-wrapped steering wheel and shifter, an even more deluxe sound system with 4.3-inch display screen, automatic climate control, and foglights. It comes with the automatic transmission and cold-weather package as standard. All-new integrated navigation ($1200) includes a rear camera and additional sound system upgrades.

Interior of 2013 Subaru Recalls.
The Forester cabin is comfortable and the seats are good. We like the leather better than the cloth. The cloth seats come in gray or black, are more conservative than sporty, and the material doesnt feel as rugged as the material that Mazda uses. The available perforated leather is a whole new ball game, eclipsing the mundane cloth. Forester XT gets sporty aluminum pedals.

Visibility is excellent through the windshield, with a modest hood, tight front fenders, and A-pillars designed to minimize blind spots. Visibility in the rearview mirror is not so good. The rear glass fills the mirror, but the rear seat headrests, middle seatbelt hanging from the ceiling, and rear center-mounted-stoplamp all intrude. Over your shoulder around the C-pillars, visibility is okay again, the blindspot a small one.

We drove the Forester in summer and winter, and found that the air conditioning cools fast, but the heater heats and defrosts less fast, not a feature when its cold. The fan is louder than in other models, also.

The dash has a beautiful sweep like sculpture, from the center stack off to the passenger side, in dark titanium plastic that looks nice, with more of that trim on the center stack, instrument panel, and doors. The glovebox is big. Theres a thin digital display inserted at the top center of the dash for time, temperature, and fuel mileage.

The tachometer is on the left and larger speedo in the center, both with blue rims at the numbers. Theres a smaller fuel gauge to the right, in a space where there could and should be an engine temperature gauge, but its been erased by an idiot light, which we only knew because it comes on blue when the engine is cold.

Just forward of the shift lever is a big deep slot for storage, although you have to reach around the lever to use it. Climate and audio controls on the center stack are simple to operate, no touch screen that doesnt always respond or menus to figure out and navigate, just old-fashioned knobs to turn. We like this, because old-fashioned knobs always work, at a time when always working seems not to be in fashion. The front doors have a nice elbow rest and large pockets each with a recess for 24-ounce bottles. The center console is deep, and slides forward four inches to make an armrest, on all models but the base 2.5X.

2013 Fiat 500X SUV

Off-road versions of popular small and compact cars are no longer uncommon for a long time and have an irresistible charm. Whether or Mini Countryman BMW X1 compact SUVs are the darlings of a stylish and trendy young and affluent clientele. This will be more pleased when she hears the news of the planned Fiat 500 SUV. Here are potentiated the lifestyle factor, since the Fiat 500 is already in the normal version of a smart mobile trend with cult potential.

Fiat 500X SUV 2013

Apparently it has been learned in the development offices of some of the competitors Fiat Sun Mini, for, as there are now attempts in Italy around the best-selling 500 is a small family of descendants of the original model building. Until now appeared next to a convertible sedan and a minivan, the end of the year 2013, then followed the 2013 Fiat 500X SUV and capture the hearts of sports enthusiasts and trend-conscious motorists in the storm.

Much is the latest addition to the 500 families still not known: Youtube video and leave a few pictures guess what the automotive world awaits the end of next year from Italy:

What can be seen there, however, immediately makes you want more, and shows that to build the implementation of the idea, an off-roader of the Fiat 500X, could well rise. The familiar look of chubby Italian speedster hits bulky SUV design, which seems to be working, according to the first few images amazingly well. Particularly striking are the typical Kunststoffbeplankungen and increased ground clearance. Different from the Fiat 500L is the very sporty SUV with dynamic lines and the unmistakable face of the Fiat 500X.

Which engines in the Fiat 500X will be used off-roader, is still entirely in the stars. Here we had officially announce anything yet, but it would probably involve known units of the modular group. The price of the 500X SUV is also still secret thing, even though some have certainly been reserved for the emergence of the first images of a place in her garage for the youngest family member of the 500 clan.

Mustang GT 2013 Review

The newest Mustang, in GT form, makes 420 horsepower, and is good for 390 pound-feet of torque, and starting at only $31,000 it’s a steal.

But let’s start with the new things on the 2013 Mustang.
First off the tail lights now have a "smoked" look to them, and the turn signals are in sequential function, some people dislike the idea, but honesty in person it looks fantastic. Inside the car you can now order Recaro racing seats, a $1600 option, and no power adjustment, but hey, who buys Recaro seats for comfort? The new Mustang also has a new option called Track Apps, it is located in between the tachometer and the speedometer, you can track the acceleration, braking, and even G-forces that are being applied to your car in corners, other things you can check on include, cylinder head temp, intake temp, and oil temp.
More new goodies on the GT are the new Gotta Have It Green paint scheme, which looks stunning and is a real head turner. You also may notice the new HID headlights on the car, which offer great visibly at night and look great in the day. more options include a new hood which has functional vents that cool the monster V8. The front grill has also been resigned, with a more aggressive look than before, the new Mustangs also come with a new air-splitter which increases corner capabilities, and of course looks.

The new Mustang includes a 6-speed auto transition that uses a push-to-shift control which is located on the side of the shifter, which is sadly, horrid, the shifts feel slushy and slow, and down shifts feel very unresponsive, but why would you buy a 420 horse power beast and buy a automatic? go ahead and buy the manual version, which shifts as good as you do. On the positive note the car handles much better than the car it replaces, which is partly because of the new Electric Power Assist system available on the 2013 model of the Mustang, even more nerdy assists include the Hill Assist control, which applies the brakes for two seconds on steep hills, making it much less complicated pulling away from hills.

All in all this is a great car, with loads of options to choose from, the possibilities are endless. It combines comfort, with power, and practicality, with every day fun. With the new touches that make a great car even better, there’s no reason not to love a 2013 Mustang GT.

Get set for a year of great motoring events in 2013

A SUMMER of motoring fun is just a few months away, if the list of exciting events across the north west and further afield is anything to go by.

Fans of classic cars and bikes will be spoilt for choice when a host of events get underway, with draws including the Ormskirk MotorFest - now in its third year - on August 25, the Lydiate Classic Car Show on July 7, and the Bank Hall show in Bretherton on July 28 among others.

Its also hoped that the Woodvale Rally, a longstanding favourite with car and bike fans, will return to its traditional home at RAF Woodvale for 2013, after concerns about asbestos at the site prompted a change of venue to Victoria Park last year. The shows organisers are still awaiting confirmation, but the event is provisionally set for the weekend of August 3 and 4 so keep an eye on their website at www.woodvalerally.com for any further announcements.

A little further afield theres the return of the North West Indoor Classic Car Show, after the inaugural event proved to be one of last years surprise hits. This years show takes place at EventCity in Manchester - a stones throw from The Trafford Centre - so make sure youve got the weekend of April 6 and 7 in your diary.

A couple of other big draws to make a note of are the Classic Car Spectacular, due to take place over the first weekend of June at Tatton Park in Cheshire, the Classic, Vintage and Sports Car Show at the same venue on August 17 and 18, the Cholmondeley Pageant of Power between June 14 and 16, the Gold Cup at the Oulton Park race circuit over the August Bank Holiday. Theres also word that CarFest - a motoring event organised by Radio 2 DJ and Ferrari nut Chris Evans - will get the green light for a 2013 event, so while theres no official dates yet dont bet against it being hosted at some point in August or September.

Theres also - if youre prepared to hop in the car and venture even further - all manner of national events being held at Goodwood, the NEC, Beaulieu, Silverstone and Santa Pod to name just a few, but even if you cant it looks set to be a vintage year for automotive outings.

If youre organising a motoring event or show why not share it with Life On Cars? Get in touch with David Simister, our motoring correspondent, by sending an email to david.simister@hotmail.co.uk or leave a comment below.

2013 Mercedes Benz G63 AMG

2013 Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG - Front Angle

The Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG fuel consumption of 13.8 litres per 100 kilometres (NEDC combined) is a reduction of 2.1 litres on the predecessor model, representing fuel savings of 13 percent. This reduction can be attributed to the state-of-the-art biturbo eight-cylinder engine, along with the AMG SPEEDSHIFT PLUS 7G-TRONIC automatic transmission system, the generator management system and the ECO start/stop function. The seven-speed automatic gearbox features three drive modes and an automatic double-declutching function for downshifting, creating an incredible range of variability. In “Controlled Efficiency” (C) mode, the ECO start/stop function is active, shutting down the eight-cylinder engine when the vehicle is stationary. “C” mode is also characterised by smooth accelerator and transmission characteristics and early gear changes; the vehicle is usually started in second gear in this mode. The AMG instrument cluster includes a green “ECO” symbol, indicating when the ECO start/stop function is on.

Woodvale Rally organisers confirm airfield axe for 2013 event

THE Woodvale Rally will not be returning to its traditional home at the RAF Woodvale airbase, its organisers have confirmed this week.

As first reported on Life On Cars last Friday, ongoing concerns about asbestos at the airfield, near Formby, have meant plans for the event to return there in its traditional format are no longer possible, although the shows organisers are now working on a smaller scale event, which is set to be held in Southport this June.

This weeks Southport Champion newspaper has followed up the story, and todays front page story, by my colleague Natasha Young, reads:

THE popular Woodvale Rally will not be returning to its RAF airfield home after organisers were dealt a health and safety blow.

The long-running event had to be relocated at the eleventh hour last summer, when it was due to take place at RAF Woodvale for the 41st year, after a trace of asbestos was found at the site.

The move to Southports Victoria Park hit organisers financially and also meant that key attractions such as the model aircraft demonstrations couldnt go ahead due to the lack of runway, but the team behind the event remained hopeful that the rally would be able to make an RAF Woodvale return this year.

As previously reported in the Champion, organisers went to seek advice from specialists after a Government report on the site was released, and were told there was no risk to the public from the asbestos and an affected area could easily be fenced off during the event with air monitoring also being carried out in marquees.

Now rally manager Peter Wood has been told that the RAF cant issue permission for the event to be held at the airfield, and told the Champion this week: “Because theres been a trace of asbestos at Woodvale, although we had a report saying there was no danger, they are unable to issue us a report saying we can use the airfield.

"I think were out of RAF Woodvale forever."

He added: "Theres such disappointment because the events been there for over 40 years. The whole event was built for RAF Woodvale."

Despite the bitter blow, organisers are now determined to salvage some of the rally by coming up with a new event in Southport.

Rather than trying to recreate the Woodvale Rally at a different venue like last year, the group is now in the early stages of putting together a new two-day family event.

It is hoped the festival, which has been given the working title of Woodvale Transport Extravaganza, will be able to take place at Victoria Park on June 22-23.

If all goes to plan it will feature the classic cars, displays and family entertainment that the rally offered and, while the flying displays will no longer be able to take place, tickets will be cheaper for visitors.

Mr Wood explained: "Were going to give a much reduced admission, like £5 for adults and children free, and free car entry. Were really trying to make this one work.

An email has been circulated to car club members in the area to get their views on the idea for the new show, which could potentially still include camping and possibly parking on Princes Park.

Meanwhile, Mr Wood said a catering company used at the rally is already on board and Sefton Council is said to be pleased about the prospect of an event being held in the resort in June, which is currently a clear month on the towns events calendar.

“We hope this will succeed. The only disappointment will be the model flying,” added Mr Wood. “We just hope people will give their support.”

The latest news will be a blow to car and bike enthusiasts across the north west, who are among the exhibitors who have been attending the Woodvale Rally since its inception, although they are being encouraged to support plans by the organisers for the successor event.

Life On Cars comment:  LOSING the Woodvale Rally, in its traditional form at least, is a huge blow for car and bike enthusiasts right across Sefton and West Lancashire, as well as further afield. Whats more, to my mind at least the RAFs decision triggers more questions than it answers.

Crucially, why has it been decided its too dangerous to hold an event there, even when the Rallys organisers have been told by independent findings that the asbestos found at the airfield poses “no danger” to the public? Perhaps, most importantly of all, what does it all mean for the car clubs, the bikers, the exhibitors and the Great British Public whove supported the show for so many years, especially when it relocated to Victoria Park for last years event?

I dont - and Im sure I speak for hundreds of Rallygoing classic car owners - blame the Woodvale Rallys organisers for a second, whove a) fought tooth and nail to keep the event at RAF Woodvale going despite the setbacks, and b) kept the fans updated, particularly on their Facebook page.

For as long as I can remember the Woodvale Rally has been a highlight of my car nut calendar, for all sorts of reasons. Who can forget the flypasts of World War Two aircraft? Or the rows of classic cars and bikes seemingly stretching to the horizon? Or even the heady aroma of fast food being served to thousands of visitors? The airfield event, for all sorts of reasons, is just part of my childhood, and now that Im a fully grown boy Im saddened by the latest developments.

Im sure even the Woodvale Rallys most ardent fans would admit the 2012 event lacked the scale and variety of the airbase extravaganzas of previous years, but then the people behind it had it did the best they could with a show thatd been relocated at short notice. The show, as they say, must go on.

Its a crying shame that the memories of wandering through legions of old cars on hot August weekends are set to remain just that - memories - but I reckon the team behind the Woodvale Rally have got the skills, contacts, experience, and crucially, goodwill to turn a blow into an opportunity and create something to fill the vacuum in the motoring events diary.

That should be top of the organisers to-do list, but it leaves the regions motoring fans with a mission of their own too. We need to lend them their support, because thats the only way to create an even more memorable event for the next generation of car nuts to enjoy.

The Woodvale Rally is dead. Long live whatever replaces it!

Motoring groups give 2013 Budget a mixed reaction

GROUPS representing the nations motorists have shared their thoughts on what this years Budget could mean for your automotive wallet.

Chancellor George Osborne revealed a number of measures which will affect the cost of owning and running a car, including a proposed freeze in fuel duty rises later this year, which have met with a mixed reaction from motoring organisations.

The fuel duty freeze got a particularly warm welcome, with Professor Stephen Glaister, the director of the RAC Foundation, saying: “This news provides breathing space for families being smothered by the soaring costs of motoring, especially the 800,000 households spending more than a quarter of their income on operating a vehicle.

"Through this move, the chancellor will lose about £1bn a year in duty and VAT income, but tens of thousands of people will be saved from being forced to give up their cars against a backdrop of generally rising running costs.

"Freezing fuel duty does nothing to help the millions who rely on public transport. Bus services are seeing year-on-year cuts and government is still committed to above-inflation rail fares rises."

The chancellor, George Osborne, said: "We inherited a fuel duty escalator that would have seen above inflation increases in every year of this Parliament. We abolished the escalator and now we’ve now frozen fuel duty for two years. This has not been easy. The Government has foregone £6billion in revenues to date."

However, AA president Edmund King described the move as "relief, rather than joy" for drivers, while other transport groups were less supportive of the measures.

Stephen Joseph, chief executive of the Campaign for Better Transport, said: "Freezing fuel duty does nothing to help the millions who rely on public transport.

"Bus services are seeing year-on-year cuts and government is still committed to above-inflation rail fares rises."

Nissan, meanwhile, publicly expressed delight that Benefit in Kind (BIK) tax levels - such as its LEAF model - will now be set at 5%, rather than 13% as previously.

A spokesperson for the firm said: "The Budget announcement means that by keeping BIK rates for company EV drivers at the lowest rate, more will look to choose an EV like the LEAF as their next company car.

"This should increase EV sales, at the same time as helping bring down emission levels which is a priority both for companies meeting their corporate CSR objectives and for cities such as London to meet future EU emission targets."
